This guide explains how to delete your Outpass account and what happens to your data when you do.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Outpass account by sending an email request.
Email Deletion Request
- Send an email to: support@outpass.app
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include in your email:
- Your registered email address (the one you use to log in)
- Your full name as registered in the app
- Reason for deletion (optional but helpful)
- We will verify your identity and process the request
Processing Time: We will respond within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.
From the App
You can also initiate account deletion directly from the Outpass app:
- Open the Outpass app
- Go to Settings (Profile tab → Settings icon)
- Navigate to Account Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Your email app will open with a pre-filled deletion request
- Send the email to complete your request
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
✅ Deleted Data
- Account Information: Name, email, phone number, username
- Profile Information: Profile photo, cover image, bio, city, country
- Personal Information: Date of birth, gender, nationality
- Health Information: All medical and health data
- Experience Profile: Experience level, sports preferences, preparation level
- Authentication Data: Login credentials and tokens
- Device Data: Push notification tokens
- Preferences: All app settings and preferences
- Photos: All uploaded photos and images
- User-Generated Content: Bucket list items, personal notes
- Contact Information: Emergency contacts
⚠️ Anonymized Data
Some data is anonymized (disconnected from your identity) but retained:
- Reviews and Ratings: Your reviews remain visible but are shown as "Anonymous User"
- Trip Participation: Historical trip data for agencies' records (your name is removed)
- Analytics Data: Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics
📋 Retained Data (Legal Requirements)
Some data may be retained for legal or business purposes:
- Transaction Records: Booking and payment records (required for accounting and legal compliance)
- Support Tickets: Customer support communications (for up to 3 years)
- Legal Documentation: If involved in disputes or legal matters
Note: Retained data is stored securely and not used for any purpose other than legal compliance.
What Happens After Deletion
Immediate Effects (within 24 hours):
- ❌ You cannot log in to your account
- ❌ Your profile is no longer visible to other users
- ❌ You will not receive push notifications or emails
- ❌ Your bucket list is no longer accessible
- ❌ You cannot access past trip details or bookings
Within 30 Days:
- 🗑️ All personal data is permanently deleted from our servers
- 🗑️ Backups containing your data are purged
- 🗑️ Third-party services (Firebase, etc.) are notified to remove your data
- ✅ You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete
Cannot Be Undone:
⚠️ Account deletion is PERMANENT and IRREVERSIBLE.
Once deleted:
- You cannot recover your account
- You cannot retrieve your data
- You cannot restore your trip history
- You must create a new account to use Outpass again
